Allen-Bradley HMI Alternatives — Candidate Replacements

Replacing a Allen-Bradley HMI part? Cross-reference for HMI is done by engineering review — submit the part number and we map a candidate against your I/O, protocol and application. Candidate replacements, subject to engineering review.

We do not publish a fabricated Allen-Bradley HMI mapping table. Typical parts (PanelView 800) are matched to a candidate during review — against protocol, footprint and safety scope — before any BOM is confirmed.

Allen-Bradley HMI → candidate cross-reference

No confirmed Allen-Bradley HMI cross-reference rows are published yet. Cross-reference for HMI is done by engineering review — submit the part number and we map a candidate against protocol, footprint and safety scope. We will not invent a mapping.

What typically carries over

The PanelView screen flow, operator wording, alarm definitions, recipes, security roles, tag list, and data-history requirements can remain the functional brief. FactoryTalk View project assets also help document global objects and controller relationships. They do not transfer as a finished project to another HMI platform, so each behavior must be identified and intentionally rebuilt. Required maintenance views and operator recovery steps should also be documented before implementation begins.

What needs re-engineering

Re-engineering covers screens, navigation, alarms, recipes, users, trends, data logs, and any macros, plus a complete rebinding to the target PLC variables. EtherNet/IP or CIP-based tag access may need to move to Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, or another reviewed driver. Cutout, mounting, power, ports, storage, and environmental requirements are verified against the selected panel. Global-object behavior, acknowledgements, recipe transfer, retained settings, access control, and communication failure states should be reviewed with operators and exercised before release. The approved tag map, screen project, driver settings, and communications test record should be archived for service. Documentation should identify global objects that were rebuilt or retired. Any proposed HMI is a candidate replacement — subject to engineering review.

Frequently asked

What are the alternatives to Allen-Bradley automation products?

We propose engineering-reviewed candidate replacements for Allen-Bradley PLC, HMI and VFD from Kinco, Kemron and others. These are candidates subject to engineering review against your I/O, protocol and application — not direct-swap equivalents.

Is a candidate replacement a direct swap for my Allen-Bradley part?

No — not a direct swap. Program logic is re-implemented, fieldbus re-planned and wiring re-terminated. Every candidate is validated by engineering review against your application before you commit.

What we are

An independent engineering partner mapping Allen-Bradley HMI parts to candidate replacements, re-implementing logic and validating fit before commitment.

What we are not

We are independent of Allen-Bradley; no manufacturer appointment or blanket compatibility is claimed. Every proposed product is a candidate replacement — subject to engineering review.
